London is the capital and one of the biggest cities in the world. It is a very old city. It is two thousand years old. London is situated upon both banks of the Thames. The population of London is about 8 million people.

BIG BENBig Ben Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London.

LONDON EYELondon Eye is one of the tallest observation wheel in the world.

NATIONAL GALLERYNational Gallery, art museum in London that houses Great Britain’s national collection of European paintings. It is located on the north side of Trafalgar Square, Westminster.

WESTMINSTER ABBEYWestminster Abbey It is the Royal church. British famous people have been crowned and buried here.

NELSON'S COLUMNNelson’s Column, monument in Trafalgar Square in London. It honours Horatio Nelson, the greatest of English naval heroes, and commemorates Britain’s triumph over France.

HOUSESOFPARLIAMENTHouses of Parliament, the seat of the bicameral Parliament. It is located on the left bank of the River Thames in the borough of Westminster, London.

ROYAL ALBERT HALLThe Royal Albert Hall is a concert hall on the northern edge of South Kensington, London, England. It has a seating capacity of 5,272. It was opened by Queen Victoria in 1871.

LONDON UNDERGROUNDThe London Underground is a system of electric trains which is also called the tube. It started operating in 1863, originally using steam locomotives, and is the oldest underground railway in the world.

TOWER BRIDGETower Bridge is a drawbridge that rises up to let ships pass underneath. The bridge has pedestrian walkways that are 44 metres (143ft) above the river Thames. They can be walked across even when the bridge is raised.

THE GHERKINThe real address of The Gherkin building is 30 St Mary Axe. It is a skyscraper in the financial district of London. It was opened in 2004.

ST. PAUL’S CATHEDRALThe original St Paul’s Cathedral was destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666. The existing cathedral was designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren and finished in 1711. The building is famous for its huge dome.

Buckingham Palace is the residence of the residence of Royal Family since 1837. Although in use for the many official events and receptions held by The King, the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every summer. Buckingham Palace has 775 rooms. These include 19 State rooms, 52 Royal and guest bedrooms, 188 staff bedrooms, 92 offices and 78 bathrooms. BUCKINGHAM PALACE

BRITISHMUSEUMThe British Museum is a public museum dedicated to human history, art and culture located in London. Its permanent collection of eight million works is the largest in the world. It documents the story of human culture from its beginnings to the present. The British Museum was the first public national museum to cover all fields of knowledge.

TOWER OF LONDONThe Tower of London is a castle in the centre of the city. It was built as part of the Norman Conquest of England in 1078. It was used as both a royal residence and a prison. It is said to be haunted by many ghosts!

NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUMThe National History Museum has over 70 million specimens. The museum has been extended several times to make room for more exhibits.

PALACEGUARDThe King's Guard ( the Queen's Guard ) are sentry postings at Buckingham Palace and St James's Palace, organised by the British Army's Household Division. They postings at Horse Guards, known as the King's Life Guard (the Queen's Life Guard)

PHONE BOXESThe red telephone boxdesigned by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom . Despite a reduction in their numbers in recent years, the traditional British red telephone kiosk can still be seen in many places throughout the UK, and in current or former British colonies around the world. The colour red was chosen to make them easy to spot.

RIVERTHAMESThe River Thames is a large river in England. It goes through London, the capital city of the United Kingdom. The Thames is 346 kilometres long.

LONDON BLACKCABS (TAXI)London's official taxis, black cabs can be hailed in the street or at designated ranks located in prominent places.

LONDON DOUBLE-DECKER BUSLondon Buses is the subsidiary of Transport for London (Tf. L) that manages most bus services in London, England. It was formed following the Greater London Authority Act 1999 .
