Seasons, Weather, Nature.

                                Origin of the month

January -cold and snowy;

February -filled with rain;

March -spring’s coming, but it’s blowy;

April -cuckoos here again;

May -the hawthorn’s shining white;

June -the roses sweets unfold;

July -summer’s at its height;

August -purple-clad and gold;

September -apple- scented air;

October -coloured leaves and sere;

November -fogs and trees grown bare;

December -darkest days are here/

                                        Months

Summer is over,

September comes.

October and November

Are also autumn months.

September is the month

When school begins.

“It’s time to work”,

The schoolbell sings.

Holidays are over

No more fun.

Holidays are over.

School days have begun.

                                 Through the year

January, dark and black,

February, sun comes back,

March… now winter, disappear,

April, truly spring is here,

May, there are such lovely days,

June, the shining sun goes blaze,

July, you’re baking on the beach,

August, hair’s fair with sunshine bleach,

September, mornings often are cold,

October, leaves are red and gold,

November, winter has arrived,

December, New Year’s joy survives.

                              Spring

Spring is the season of delight.

Apple blossoms- pink and white!

Welcome, spring, with all your joys

For merry girls and merry boys.

                                    March Wind

March wind goes out to play,

He will have such fun today.

When the boys and girls come out,

He blows their caps and hats about.

                                  Little bird

Little bird, little bird

Look at me.

I have a bird house.

Oh! Come and see.

Little boy. Little boy

Under the tree.

I like your house

Give it to me.

                        Heralds of Spring

When daffodils nod golden heads,

And tulips dance on grassy beds,

When lambs are bounding in the sun,

And birds are singing, everyone,

When blossoms on the tree appear

We know, for sure, that spring is here.

                         The Autumn Birds

I see the summer birds fly south,

Now that days are cool.

Do they look down and see that I

Am on my way to school?

                            World Weather

In Antarctica it’s snowing

And in Mexico it’s hot.

In Japan the wind is blowing

And in Italy it’s not.

In Brazil the sun is shining,

And in Spain the sky is blue.

In Turkey now it’s raining,

And in Greece it’s raining too.

                               Rain

It was raining, raining, raining hard

It was falling on my head.

It was falling on my stars.

It was falling on the sun.

It was falling on my shoes.

I got soaking wet.

I got soaking wet.

But I stayed outside.

The rain was sweet.

The rain was warm.

The rain was soft.

It reminded me of home.

                                         Rain

The rain is raining all around,

It falls on field and tree,

It rains on the umbrellas here,

And on the ships at sea.

                                       I am running on my skis.

I am running on my skis,

White and silver stand the trees.

I’m as warm as can be

Try to catch me -one, two, three.

I am running on my skates,

White and silver are the lakes.

I’m as quick as quick can be

Try to catch me -one, two, three.

                                   The Snowman

Come in the garden

And play in the snow,

A snowman we’ll make,

See how quickly he’ll grow.

Give him a hat and a stick

And make him look merry.

Such a fine game

For a cold winter day.

                              I like to sing

I like to sing when

The sun is shining

I like to sing,

“Tra-la-la-la”

I like to sing when

The snow is falling.

I like to sing,

“Tra-la-la-la”

I like to sing when

The wind is blowing.

I like to sing,

“Tra-la-la-la”

I like to sing when

We are together.

I like to sing,

“Tra-la-la-la”.

                          In Winter

“In winter I ski and skate”, says little Kate.

“In summer I like to swim”, says little Jim.

“And what do you do in spring?”

“In spring we play and sing”.

                       Whether the weather be fine

Whether the weather be fine,

Or whether the weather be not,

Whether the weather be cold,

Or whether the weather be not,

We weather the weather

Whatever we like it or not.

                        Down, down, down

Red, yellow, brown

Autumn leaves tumble down,

Autumn leaves crumble down,

Autumn leaves bumble down.

                  When the weather is wet,

                   We must not fret,

                   When the weather is cold,

                    We must not scold,

                     When the weather is warm,

                     We must not storm,

                     But be thankful

                     Together

                    Whatever the weather.

                     Autumn

This is the season when fruit is sweet.

This is the season when school friends meet.

This is the season when mornings are dark

And birds do not sing in wood and the park.

The summer is over, the trees are all bare,

There is mist in the garden and frost in the air.

                 Autumn

The moms are meeker than they were

The nuts are getting brown,

The berry’s cheek is plumper,

The rose is out of town.

The maple wears a gayer scarf,

The field a scarlet gown,

Lest I should be old-fashioned,

I’ll put a trinket on.

             Autumn Song

Now’s the time when children’s noses

All become as red as roses

And the colour of their faces

Makes me think of orchard places

Where the juicy apples grow,

And tomatoes in a row.

Come then, find your ball and racket,

Pop into your winter jacket,

With the lovely bear-skin lining,

While the sun is brightly shining,

Let us run and play together

And just love the autumn weather.

                     Winter

This is the season when children ski,

And Father Frost brings the bright New Year tree

It is winter, it’s cold, Father Frost is very old.

   But he is always full of joy and glad to give me a nice toy.

                                 Summer

Summer’s here. Days are long,

And the sun is bright and strong.

This is the season when nights are short,

And children have plenty of fun and sport.

Boating, swimming, all the day.

With a merry song on a sunny day.

Woods are green, the sun is bright,

And the wind is warm and light.

I can bathe, and play, and run.

Summer holidays are fun.
