Title: EXPLORING FARM ANIMALS
MATERIALS NEEDED:
pictures books or board books about farm animals plastic or stuffed toy farm animals animal sound recordings or musical insruments farm animals flashcards (with large, colorful images)
sensory materials (e.g. soft fur, feathers, hay) farm animals puzzles (with large, chunky pieces) art supplies (washable markers, paper, glue sticks) farm animals coloring pages (with large, simple outlines)
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
introduce pupils to different farm animals and their basic characteristics; foster curiosity and excitement about animals;
enhance vocabulary and language skills through simple animal names and sounds; develop sensory and fine motor skills through hands-on activities.
ANIMAL SOUNDS AND MOVEMENTS:
play animal sounds recordings or use musical instruments to imitate farm animal sounds;
demonsrate the suonds and movements of different farm animals; encourage the pupils to imitate the sounds and movements with your guidance
SENSORY EXPLORATION:
set up a sensory station with various materials representings farm animals; provide soft fur, feathers, hay or other textures for the pupils to touch and explore; guide them in making connections between the sensory materials and the animals they represent encourage them to imitate animal sounds or movements while interacting with the materials.
ART ACTIVITY:
provide large farm animals coloring pages and washable markers. guide the pupils to color the animals using different colors.
encourage them to talk about the animals and their colors as they color display their artwork on a wall or bulletin for them to see.
