Урок 4. Навколишнє середовище. Охорона довкілля.
Тип уроку: урок узагальнення та систематизації знань.
Мета уроку:
освітня: приведення засвоєних учнями понять з теми «Природа і погода» у струнку систему, яка передбачає розкриття та засвоєння зв’язків і відношень між її елементами;
навчальна: забезпечити свідоме вживання тематичних понять та граматичних конструкцій, удосконалювати навички аудіювання, читання, говоріння, письма;
розвиваюча: творче мислення, розвивати мовні здібності, здібності логічно висловлюватись; використовувати інформаційні технології для вивчення англійської мови;
виховна: формувати зацікавленість у вивченні англійської мови, працьовитість, виховувати уважність.
Учні повинні:
знати: поняття з теми «Природа і погода», розуміти зв’язки і відношення між її елементами;
вміти: сприймати інформацію за темою «Природа і погода», усно і письмово висловлювати свої ідеї з цього приводу.
Обладнання: комп’ютер з інтернет з’єднанням, телевізор, підручник “Solutions Pre-intermediate”, second Ukrainian edition, картки з QR- кодами, картки з завданням, смартфон/планшет, на якому встановлена програма QR-code reader.
Хід уроку.
T: Good morning students. How are you today?
Ss: We are fine. Thank you. And how are you doing?
T: I am great because today we are going to have a very interesting lesson, which will show me how good you are at environmental issues.
Вчитель повідомляє, що зараз клас обговорюватиме питання переробки сміття, над якими учні повинні були подумати вдома.
На екрані по черзі показуються три запитання, а учні висловлюють свою думку щодо кожного з питань. (Учитель запитує учнів вибірково, так щоб кожний мав змогу висловитись).
T: At home you had to think over some questions about recycling. So I want to start with a short discussion on this topic. On the screen you will see the questions and I would like you to comment on every question.

exhaust fumes - gases ejected from an engine as waste products
flood- A form of natural disaster when there is more water than the lakes, rivers, oceans, or ground can hold
drought- temporary abnormalities determined by deficient precipitation
endangered species- species whose numbers are so small that the species is at risk of extinction
hurricane- an intense, rotating oceanic weather system that possesses maximum sustained winds exceeding 119 km/hr (74 mph)
industrial waste- Wastes from any factory, transportation apparatus, from scientific research, dredging, sewage and scrap metal.
greenhouse effect- increase in temperature caused when incoming solar radiation is passed but outgoing thermal radiation is blocked by the atmosphere
global warming- warming that results when solar radiation is trapped by the atmosphere
ozone hole- a region of the stratosphere over Antarctica (and a smaller one over the Arctic) that is depleted of ozone .
nuclear waste- The radioactive products formed by fission and neutron transmutation of materials in a reactor
oil spill- the release of a liquid petroleum hydrocarbon into the environment due to human activity
landfill- a location for the disposal of human waste be it domestic, commercial or industrial
water pollution - pollution of the water in rivers and lakes
garbage- waste
Pesticides- a chemical used to kill pests (as rodents or insects a chemical used to kill pests (as rodents or insects)
pollution - the introduction of contaminants into an environment that causes instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the ecosystem
Deforestation-The process of destroying a forest and replacing it with something else, especially by an agricultural system.
Domestic garbage- Residential waste
Acid rain - Rain mixed with acids formed by gases released into the atmosphere when fossil fuels are burned.
Air pollution- The contamination of the atmosphere by noxious gases and particulates

T: Now you will work in teams. You will hear some definitions of notions connected with the topic “Environment”. The team, which guesses the notion correctly, gets a card with a QR-code. When you receive 3 codes you can start your work. Scan the code, see the picture which shows an environmental problem, name the problem and write as many solutions as you can think of. Are you ready?

b). Гра : «Якби я був мером Харкова, я б …..… щоб покращити стан оточуючого середовища» (10 хвилин)
Перший учень каже речення: «Якби я був мером Харкова, я б поставив більше баків для сміття (наприклад), щоб покращити стан оточуючого середовища»
Наступний учень продовжує: Якби я поставив більше баків для сміття, то на дорогах було б менше обгорток від цукерок.
Учень, що говорить за ним: Якби на дорогах було менше обгорток, то…
(Таким чином учні мають змогу вживати умовні речення другого типу та відпрацьовувати вживання лексики за темою).
T: Well done, guys. I think it is time for you to relax a bit and play a game. It is called “If I were the mayor of Kharkiv I would…”. The person, who begins, says: “If I were the mayor of Kharkiv I would put more rubbish bins in the park.”
The next person repeats the last part of the previous sentence and continues with saying what would happen next.
If there were more rubbish bins in the park, there would be fewer wrappings on the ground… And so on.
