Children: Three little kittens

Lost their mittens,

And they began to cry.

1^st Kitten: Oh, Mother dear!

2^nd Kitten: We very much fear

3^rd Kitten (crying): That we have lost our mittens!

Mother Cat: Lost your mittens,

You naughty kittens!

Then you will have no pie.

(The kittens go away.)

Children: The three little kittens

Found their mittens,

And they began to cry.

(The kittens run in.)

Three Little Kittens (together):

Oh, Mother dear!

1^st Kitten (showing the mittens): See here,

2^nd Kitten (showing the mittens): See here,

3^rd Kitten (showing the mittens): See, we have found our mittens!

Mother Cat: Oh, you’re good kittens!

Put on your mittens,

And you will have some pie.

(Gives them pie.)

But I smell a rat close by.

Good bye!

All (together): We smell a rat close by.

Good bye!

(The Cat and Kittens leave the stage.)

Scene 1

Mother Bear: Take your cup, Father!

Father Bea: Thank you, dear!

Mother Bear: Take your little cup, Baby Bear!

Baby Bear: Thank you, Mummy dear … Mother, it is too hot!

Father Bea: Then let’s go for a walk.

(The three Bears go out of the room.)

Scene 2

(A Little Girl comes in and looks round.)

Little Girl: Whose room can it be? (Looking at the table): I’m hungry.

(Sits down at the table and tastes the milk.) Oh, this milk is too hot for me! …

Oh, this milk is too cold for me! … This milk is just right for me!

(The noise of the three Bears’ steps is heard. The Little Girl hides in the little bed.)

Scene 3

(The three Bears enter the room and take their places at the table.)

Father Bear: My cup is not full!

Mother Bear: My cup is not full either!

Baby Bear: And my cup is empty. (They look round.) Oh, and who is this? A little girl!

Father Bear: Let’s catch her up!

Mother Bear: Let’s eat her up!

Baby Bear: Yes, yes, let’s eat her up!

Little Girl: No, you won’t! (Runs away.)

(The Bears try to catch her, but stumble and fall down.)

Mother Bear (shaking herself): It is your fault, Father! You fell and I fell, too!

Baby Bear: And I fell because you fell!

All together (shaking their heads): And the Little Girl has run away. Oh! Oh! Oh!

The Turnip The Dog

Grandfather The Cat

Grandmother The Mouse

Granddaughter

(Grandfather sees a big turnip)

Grandfather: Oh, what a big turnip we have in our kitchen-garden. I want to pull it out.

(Pulls the turnip.) One, two, three! It is too big for me. Granny, come here! Help me, please!

Grandmother: OK, Grandfather! I’m coming.

Grandfather and Grandmother (pulling together): One, two, three! … One, two, three! (No result.)

Oh, it’s too big for us!

Grandmother: Granddaughter, Granddaughter, help us, please!

Granddaughter: OK, Granny! I’m coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother and Granddaughter (pulling together): One, two, three! … One, two, three! … One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it’s too big for us!

Granddaughter: Dog, Dog, help us, please!

The Dog: OK, Granddaughter! I’m coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter and the Dog (pulling together): One, two, three! … One, two, three! … One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it’s too big for us!

The Dog: Cat, Cat, help us, please!

The Cat: OK, Dog! I’m coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, the Dog and the Cat (pulling together): One, two, three! … One, two, three! … One, two, three! (No result.) Oh, it’s too big for us!

The Cat: Mouse, Mouse, come here! Help us, please!

The Mouse: OK, Cat! I’m coming.

Grandfather, Grandmother, Granddaughter, the Dog, the Cat and the Mouse (pulling together): One, two, three! … One, two, three! … One, two, three! (Fall down.)
