Мета виховного заходу:

Розширити і поглибити знання учнів з англійської мови, удосконалити їх мовленнєві  навички  та  уміння.

Виховувати  та  підтримувати  мотивацію учнів  до  оволодіння  іноземною  мовою; розширити  знання  про  історію  та  культуру   Об’єднаного    Королівства, формувати  лінгвокраїнознавчу  компетенцію  учнів.  Сприяти естетичному вихованню учнів.

 

  Hello,  dear  friends!  You’re  welcome  to  the  intellectual  English  contest  “Brain – ring”,  which  is  devoted  to  the  United  Kingdom  of  Great  Britain  and  Northern  Ireland.  We  hope  you  have  already  had  enough  knowledge  on  this  topic  to  have  the  competition.  You  will  also  have  an  opportunity  to  practise  your  grammar  and  vocabulary.

 

Now  I’d  like  to  introduce  our  jury  …

We  think  they  will  judge  our  competition  fairly.

Today  we   have   three  teams.  We  wish  you  good  luck  and  let’s  begin.

 

1. The  first  contest  is  “ Guess  the  word”.

    You  get  the  cards  with  the  numbers  of  English  letters. 

    You  have  to  guess  the  word  and  write  it  down  on  the  sheet  of  paper.

2. The  second  contest  is  connected  with  Grammar.

 You’ll  get  the  sentences  and  your  task  is  to  find  the  odd  word  and  cross  it.

 

1. The  largest  of  lake  in  Great  Britain  is  the  Loch   Lomond.

 

2.  The  flag  of  the  United  Kingdom  is  called   somewhere  Union  Jack.

 

3.  The  United  Kingdom  is  the  Parliamentary  to  Monarchy.

 

4.  When  Parliament  is  sitting  about  the  flag  is   flying  on  the  top  of  the  Big  

      Ben  Tower.

 

5.  The  official  important  name  of  the  country  is   the  United  Kingdom  of   

     Great  Britain  and   Northern  Ireland.

 

6.  The  national  symbol  of  the  England  is  a  red   rose.

3. Now  let’s  see  how  clever  our  captains  are.  We  ask  the  captains  to

Each  team  has  to  match  the  beginning  and  the  ending  of  the  sentences  as  quickly  as  possible.

5. Now  we’ll  see  how  much  time  do  you  need  for  making  up  the    

    questions.  Remember,  you  have  to  do  it  correctly  and  quickly.

7. Now,  let’s  see  how  well  you  understand  each  other. Your  next  contest  is  “ The  Telephone  is  out  of  Order ”.   Stand  in  a  line   one  after  another  at  some  distance.  The  first  pupil  receives  a  task  -  it’s  a  sentence  he  must  read  attentively,  remember  and  then  whisper   it  to  the  next  pupil.  The  last  pupil  must  write  this  sentence  on  the  sheet  of  paper.

8. The  next  competition  is  a  well-known  game  “ Crocodile ”.  The  teams

can  try  their  abilities  in  miming.  The  members  of  each  team  in  turns  take  the  card  with  a  word  and  mime  it  to  their  teams.  The  task  is  to  guess  the  word  quickly.  For  each  correct  and  quick  answer  you  will  get  a  point.

9. For  the  next  contest  “ Associations ”  we  need  one  pupil  from  each  

team.  You’ll  have  the  card  with  a  word  and  you  should  write  5  associations  with  it.  The  task  of  the  team  is  also  to  write  associations.

  You’ll  get  a  point  if  the  associations  coincide.  One  point  for  each  word.
