Quest “English Experts”
Procedure
Students are divided into 5 teams according to the colour of a candy wrapping (blue, purple, yellow, orange, red).
Each classroom has one of these colours.
The teams have to go through 5 steps to fulfill the last task – find out a motto of the day.
At the beginning of the quest each team gets a card with the ‘colour route’ accoding to which teams move from room to room not to make a mess.
To get into a room students should understand the password first. As soon as they do this, they may enter the room, fulfill the task inside and get a point on their card with the ‘colour route’.
Blue Password: In Canadian English “runners” means shoes like trainers (8 letters) (sneakers)
Purple Password: In Scottish English “pinkie” means the smallest part of a hand (6 letters) (finger)
Yellow Password: In Australian English “digger” means a military man (7 letters) (soldier)
Orange Password: What is an American English word for “metro”? (6 letters) (subway)
Red Password: What is a British English word for a “movie”? (4 letters) (film)

If students were successful when going through 5 steps, they got 5 points which can be exchanged into 5 hints, 1 hint – 1 word of the motto. After this students try to understand the words and find out the motto.
