"Guy Fawkes' Night" ("Ніч Гая Фокса") - сценарій англійською мовою, який відтворює історичну подію Порохової змови 1605 року та пояснює щорічну традицію святкування Ночі Гая Фокса, або Ночі багать. Форма проведення - театралізована інсценізація. Якщо є можливість провести захід на свіжому повітрі, можна завершити його, влаштувавши традиційне багаття (за умови дотримання правил протипожежної безпеки). GUY FAWKES’ NIGHT
(НІЧ ГАЯ ФОКСА)
Мета:
Обладнання: опудало, матеріали для багаття, карамелізовані яблука.
Хід заходу:
Narrator: Welcome to London in the year 1605.
Plotter 1: Hello there! My dear fellows, how are you?
Plotter 2: Hello!
Plotter 4: Greetings!
Plotter 1: How are things?
Plotter 2: Need you ask? I had to pay a fine because I went to church last Sunday!
Plotter 5: Yes, that’s the way the government is treating Roman Catholics!
Plotter 4: What a shame!
Plotter 3: Disgrace!
Plotter 4: We hoped that King James would change the laws, but he didn’t.
Plotter 2: Just think – we had helped him to ascend the throne!
Plotter 1: Yes, we had been foolish enough to do that.
Plotter 3: And now it’s too late to do anything.
Plotter 2: Late? I don’t think so.
Plotter 3: What do you want to do?
Plotter 1: Revenge!
Plotter 4: Yes, we want revenge.
Plotter 2: We want freedom. We are forced to practise our religion in secret. Isn’t it unbearable?
Plotter 3: So, what do you propose?
Plotter 4: To kill the King!
Plotter 3: That’s too dangerous.
Plotter 5: Dangerous? Come on! Be a man! It’s better to die defending your faith than to live and tremble with fear!
Plotter 2: Calm down, friends! Let’s turn to our plan. On the 5th of November there will be a State Opening Ceremony of the Parliament. We have to find a way to wipe out the Parliament.
Plotter 3: But why the Parliament?
Plotter 4: Because it’s the place where the laws are made – those unfair, inhuman laws!
Plotter 5: Let’s buy a house next to the Parliament and put gunpowder into the cellar.
Plotter 2: Good idea! We’ll blow up the Parliament when the King arrives. Guy, you will watch the gunpowder and light the fuse.
(The plotters go away, then bring the barrel of gunpowder and post the guard)
Plotter 3: But I have a friend in the Parliament... I must warn him! I will send him a letter. (writes) “Dear Lord Monteagle! Don’t go to the Parliament on the 5th of November. Better stay at home. I beg you not to tell anybody about my letter. Your friend”.
(Guy Fawkes and guards)
Guard 1: Guy Fawkes! You are arrested!
Guard 2: Your plot has failed!
(The guards lead Guy Fawkes from the stage, then come back with an effigy)
Guard 1: Listen to the King’s order! “All the plotters who intended to destroy the Parliament and to assassinate the King will be executed. All the people of England must celebrate Bonfire Night with bonfires and fireworks. This day must always be remembered”.
Remember, remember the 5th of November,
Gunpowder, treason and plot!
We see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
(All the viewers are treated to toffee apples while the effigy is being burnt on the bonfire; children also blow up firecrackers and sing “London’s burning” and other English songs).
