Today we continue  speak about holidays. The topic of our lesson «My favorite holiday».

The purpose of our lesson (мета нашого уроку): активізувати лексику теми, розвивати вміння використовувати нові лексичні одиниці на рівні фрази; вдосконалювати навички читання,  говоріння та письма; розвивати слухову пам'ять; підтримувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови, виховувати повагу до міжнародних традицій та звичаїв.

1. Організаційний момент. Привітання

7.What is ''carol''? (It is Christmas song)

8.What do parents put under the Christmas tree? (They put presents under the Christmas tree)

9.When do people celebrate Valentine's Day? (People celebrate Valentine's Day on 14 February)

Translate into English, please:

Великдень – це релігійне свято. (Easter is a religious holiday)                                                                Ми прикрашаємо ялинку на Різдво.(We decorate Christmas tree on Christmas)                                                 У Великодню неділю люди йдуть до церкви. 5. Listening. Children, now I will describe some holidays, and you must name what is it.

Children are happy to celebrate this holiday in spring because they give presents to their mothers. (Mother’s Day)

On this day you invite your friends to a party. You play games, dance and sing. You get a lot of presents. (A birthday)

People celebrate it on 25^th December. They cook turkey, green vegetables and a pudding. They give each other presents. (Christmas)

This holiday is in February. People in love give each other chocolates, special cards and other presents. (Saint Valentine’s Day)

People wear a scary costume on this day (Halloween)

We have a national parade on this holiday (Independence Day)

6. Reading. Open your books and let’s read and translate the text on page 59.

7. Writing (на дошці). Open your copybooks, write the date in it and do ex 3 p 59. We need write if the sentences are true or false. Who want to the blackboard?

Task 1: Now lets play the game “Guess the word”. Come to me one by one and take cards with words in which letters are missing and write these letters. Write the words on the board.
