(Пізнавально-розважальна гра)

Мета: формувати пізнавальні інтереси учнів, роз­ширювати сфери застосування здобутих знань та вмінь, стимулювати в демонстрації досягнень оволо­діння предметом; сприяти розширенню загального розвитку та логічного мислення; виховувати прагнення до пізнання нового.

Обладнання: завдання для кожного конкурсу, кольорові олівці, аркуші паперу А4, комп. презентація

ХІД ЗАХОДУ

T. Good afternoon children and our guests! I am very glad to see you here. Today we have a very in­teresting game “The Smartest”. Two teams will take part in the game. Please introduce yourself. 

The team 1: We Will Win (WWW)

 The team 2: We are Very Intellectual People (VIP)

Who is the captain of the first team? Introduce yourself . Who is the captain of the second team?

Today all of you have a good chance to improve your English and show your knowledge of different subjects, not only English. And here is our jury. Our jury will comment the results of our competition.

1. The Tongue Twister Contest  (Слайд 2)

Т: If you want to visit the UK, you should pronounce the words and sentences quickly and pronounce the sounds correctly. Let’s have the Tongue Twister Contest. Look at the screen. This one is for WWW and that one is for VIP. Listen and practice for a minute. Mind the speed and pronunciation!

 Present your Tongue Twisters.

1. Six thick thistles stick.

Six thick thistles stick.

2. Swan swam over the sea.

Swim, swan, swim!

Swam swan back again.

Well swim, swan!

3. She sells sea shells by the seashore.

The shells she sells are surely seashells.

So if she sells shells on the seashore,

 I’m sure she sells seashore shells.

4. A black cat sat on a mat and ate a fat rat.
5. Give Papa a cup of coffee in a copper coffee cup.

 

2. Grammar Contest (Слайд 3)

 

Т: You can speak quickly. Now we’ll check your grammar. Sometimes it can be a problem to use the definite article with geographical names. Fill in the articles where necessary. The task is on the screen and on the cards. You will have 2 minutes.

Т:Now you’ll see the pictures  of London’s places of interest on the screen. Guess the name of each place .

 

4. Artists’ Competition (Слайд 20)

T. You’ll listen to a short story and your task is to draw what’s the story about. Teams get paper and colored pencils.

A LITTLE MONSTER

Laura has got many different toys. But her favourite toy is a little monster. It is purple. Its head is big and round. It has got one big nose, four long ears, six thin arms and two long legs. Its three eyes are on the monster’s forehead. Its mouth is small and the lips are rosy. It always smiles. The monster isn’t ugly, it is nice. Laura likes it very much.

5. WHO  KNOWS English better? (Слайд 21)

T.: Your task is to make up as many words as you can, using these letters. (2 minutes)

6. Guess the meaning of the words (Показуха)-( for the captains of the teams). (Слайд 22)

 

T.: Now the captains of each team will take the cards with the given words. With the help of gestures, they will explain the meaning of these words to the teammates. The team must guess the words.

Dog, to play computer, cooking, flower, pilot.

7. Mysterious note  (Слайд 23)

T.: The next task is to work out the note.

8. Crosses and Naughts(Слайд 24)

 

T. Our next contest is called “Crosses and Naughts”. You are to play and guess the riddles. (Пояснення: Учні грають в гру «Хрестики та Нулики». Наприклад, команда 1- «Хрестиків» називає цифру 5, то їм вчитель зачитує загадку під номером 5. Якщо учні цієї команди відгадують цю загадку, їм зараховується ця відповідь і на ігровому полі вчитель записує «Х» і т. д.)

Т.: And our last contest is called “Around the UK”. You’ll get the questions and the team who gives the right answer the first  is the winner. (Slides)
