Pet of the family

I’ve got a friend. It is my cat. His name’s Tisha. He’s black. Tisha has got brown eyes, a brown nose, big ears and a long tail. He’s friendly, nice and clever.

MY GRANDPARENTS’ HOUSE

My grandparents live in a big house. There’s a kitchen, a hall, a big living-room, a bedroom and a bathroom downstairs. There’re five bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs.

My grandparents’ bedroom is the biggest room in the house. There’s a big bed, a wardrobe, a table and a bookcase in the room. There’s a beautiful carpet on the floor.

The most popular room is the living-room. When we visit our grandparents we have dinner in the living-room. We watch TV, dance, sing songs and play different board games there. There’s a sofa, a TV-set, two armchairs in the living-room.

Mike likes his school. He goes to school 5 days a week. Mike has a lot of lessons on his timetable. My friend.

My best friend's name is Susan. She is twelve years old. We live in the neighboring houses and play in the same yard. We are classmates. So we can see each other every day, Susan is a slim and pretty girl. She is not very tall. She has got long dark curly hair, blue eyes and a straight nose. Susan is kind and careful. She is always ready to help me if I need it. She is very good at Maths, so we often do our homework in Maths together.

English Meals

 The English take four meals a day: breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner or supper. In England breakfast time is between seven and nine, lunch time is between twelve and two, tea is between four and five and dinner or supper time is between seven and ten.

In some English houses lunch is the biggest meal of the day – they have meat or fish, vegetables, fruit or pudding. Some people who go out to work have sandwiches and coffee.

In the afternoon, at tea time the English, as you know, like to have a cup of tea with milk. Some Englishmen have their dinner late in the evening. For dinner they have soup, fish or meat, vegetables, pudding and fruit.

For supper they usually have a glass of milk and a cake or a cup of tea and a sandwich.

But there are people who like to have some more things to eat for supper – cold meat or fish. Then they usually try to take a good walk after supper: “after dinner sleep a while, after supper walk a mile”, the English proverb goes.
