The topic of the lesson: Ceremonies
The main aims:
-to revise previously taught vocabulary;
-to give students free practice of verb-noun collocations;
-to develop listening skills for specific information;
-to develop speaking skills for consolidating recently taught language.
Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to speak and describe different kinds of unusual and family ceremonies, using verb-noun collocations and compare what family has the most interesting ceremony.
Plan
I. Warming-up, greetings, topic and aims of the lesson.
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, nice to meet you. The topic of our lesson is Ceremonies. During our lesson, we revise family words, verb-noun collocations, try to be interpreters, translating the video about unusual ceremony in Bali, watch the wedding ceremony to find out specific information, and then you present your own presentations about family ceremonies.
II. Revising vocabulary.
Let’s revise the family words, you are divided into groups and are given two pieces of paper. Try to write down as many words as you remember.
Now you are given parts of the family words, combine two parts of them and then fill these words into the sentence.
