Тема:  Наша Батьківщина – Україна

Мета:

• повторити й активізувати лексичний матеріал теми;
• розширювати словниковий запас учнів;
• формувати навички й уміння різних видів мовленнєвої діяльності;
• ознайомити з новими фактами про Україну, її визначні місця, столицю Батьківщини – Київ;
• розвивати мовну здогадку, пам'ять, увагу, мовленнєву реакцію, логічне мислення,  вміння роботи в парах, групах;
• виховувати активність у вирішенні комунікативних завдань, здатність до взаємодопомоги;
• продовжувати формувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови;
• виховувати любов до Батьківщини, почуття патріотизму.

Обладнання:  комп’ютер, мультимедійна дошка, презентація вчителя, учнівська презентація,  аудіо-   та  відеозаписи, тематичні плакати з зображенням  карти України, карти Києва, державних символів України, роздатковий матеріал.

Кабінет оформлений відповідно до теми, на дошці - девіз уроку та вислови відомих людей про Батьківщину.

Хід уроку

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Організаційний момент. Привітання  (Слайд 1)

Teacher:  Good morning, children!

Pupils:  Good morning!

Teacher: I am glad to see you!

Teacher: Well, children, sit down, please! How are you today?

1. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку

Teacher: Pupils, today at the lesson we’ll have to do a lot of activities.  We  are  going  to   travel  around …. But what country we’ll travel you must tell me. You must open the word at the blackboard. I’ll help you.

What is it? (Вчитель відкриває по одній літері на дошці)

U – we use it when it rains (umbrella)

K – the capital of our country (Kyiv)

R – the colour of double-decker busses in London (red)

A – it is the 1^st letter of the English alphabet (a)

I – part of the land (island)

N – it is a negative word (no)

E – it is the biggest animal (elephant)

Children, what country is it?

Pupils: It’s Ukraine.     (Слайд 2)

Teacher: Yes, it’s Ukraine.

At our lesson we’ll speak about Ukraine – our motherland.  We’ll practice our skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking and learn a lot of interesting facts about our country.

This is the motto of our lesson: “East or west home is best”. People also say:

There’s no place like home

It may be big, it may be small
But wherever you go

Motherland is the best place of all.

Teacher:  Pupils, can you recite any poem to our theme?  

Діти читають напам’ять вірші про Україну, рідний край, які вивчали на попередніх уроках.

    You can go to the East,

    You can go to the West.

     But at home it is better,

     But at home it is best.

 

            We live in Ukraine, a beautiful land.

            It’s home for me and you, my friend.

            Its towns and villages are so nice.

            Ukrainian people are friendly and wise.

4. Розвиток навичок  аудіювання й усного мовлення  (Слайди  7-10 )

 Teacher: You know that our country is large and beautiful. There are blue rivers, green forests and high mountains in Ukraine. Many towns and cities both small and big have a lot of places of interest and are famous for their history.

 Try to do your best! We’ll travel around Ukraine. We’ll  go  by  bus. But  first  of  all  we  need  tickets. You  shouldn’t  pay  money  for  these  tickets. You  should  answer  my  question  to  get  a  ticket. Let’s  start.

         Ukraine  is  an independent state. It  has  it’s  own  territory, government, the state symbols.

The National Flag of Ukraine is blue and yellow. The blue colour stands for the clear blue sky and the yellow colour stands for the golden wheat field.

(Слайд 15)  The Ukrainian Anthem is the song by Pavlo Chubynsky and Mykhailo Verbytsky. (звучить Гімн України)       

 The Ukrainian Anthem is translated in different languages of the world.

(Слайд 16)  Ukraine   is  situated  in  the  centre  of  Europe. The  population  is  more  than  42  million.  The main national holiday of the country is Independence Day.  Kyiv is  the  capital  of  Ukraine. It is very beautiful.  Kyiv  is  situated  on  the    banks  of  the  river  Dnipro – the main river of Ukraine. 

 The  main  street  of  the  capital  is  Khreshchatyk.

 The national language is Ukrainian.  The Ukrainians live in small towns and big cities, in the villages. They are talented, friendly and hardworking. They are proud of their country.

 Teacher:  What  do  you  know  about  the  sights  of  Kyiv? Let’s play the game. Read  the  descriptions  and  name  the  sights. Work in groups.

1.    It  is  the  main  and  the  most  beautiful  street  in  the  city. A lot  of  chestnut  trees  grow  along  this  street. These  trees  are  the  symbol  of  the  city. (Слайд 31)

 

2. It’s  a  big  monastery  with  many  ancient  churches  and  museums. It  is  famous  for  its  underground  caves. Thousands  of  Christians  from  different  countries  of  the  world  come  to  visit  it  every  year. (Слайд 32)

 

3. It  is  one  of  the  oldest  universities  in  Kyiv. (Слайд 33)
