Кабінет оформлений відповідно до теми, на дошці - девіз уроку та вислови відомих людей про Батьківщину.

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

Teacher: Good morning, children!

Teacher: Pupils, today at the lesson we’ll have to do a lot of activities. We are going to travel around …. But what country we’ll travel you must tell me. You must open the word at the blackboard. I’ll help you.

U – we use it when it rains (umbrella)
K – the capital of our country (Kyiv)
R – the colour of double-decker busses in London (red)
A – it is the 1st letter of the English alphabet (a)
I – part of the land (island)
N – it is a negative word (no)

Teacher: Yes, it’s Ukraine.
At our lesson we’ll speak about Ukraine – our motherland. We’ll practice our skills in reading, listening, writing and speaking and learn a lot of interesting facts about our country.

This is the motto of our lesson: “East or west home is best”. People also say:
There’s no place like home
It may be big, it may be small
But wherever you go
Motherland is the best place of all.

Teacher: You know that our country is large and beautiful. There are blue rivers, green forests and high mountains in Ukraine. Many towns and cities both small and big have a lot of places of interest and are famous for their history.
Try to do your best! We’ll travel around Ukraine. We’ll go by bus. But first of all we need tickets. You shouldn’t pay money for these tickets. You should answer my question to get a ticket. Let’s start.

Ukraine is an independent state. It has it’s own territory, government, the state symbols.

The National Flag of Ukraine is blue and yellow. The blue colour stands for the clear blue sky and the yellow colour stands for the golden wheat field.

(Слайд 15) The Ukrainian Anthem is the song by Pavlo Chubynsky and Mykhailo Verbytsky. (звучить Гімн України)

(Слайд 16) Ukraine is situated in the centre of Europe. The population is more than 42 million. The main national holiday of the country is Independence Day. Kyiv is the capital of Ukraine. It is very beautiful. Kyiv is situated on the banks of the river Dnipro – the main river of Ukraine.
The main street of the capital is Khreshchatyk.
The national language is Ukrainian. The Ukrainians live in small towns and big cities, in the villages. They are talented, friendly and hardworking. They are proud of their country.
