Урок було проведено в 9 класі спеціалізованої школи з поглибленим вивченням іноземної мови. Під час уроку виконувались різні завдання. Значна увага приділялась тренуванню лексики. Були виконані завдання на заповнення пропусків, опіс країни з використанням імеників, прикметників, дієслів.
Важливе значення приділялось розвитку навичок слухання та говоріння.
Роздатковий матеріал, використання ТЗН, виконання міні проектів, роздатковий матеріал з лірикою пісні, уривок фільму "My fair Lady".

Materials: TV set, laptop, cards with vocabulary, cards with lyrics.
Aim: by the end of lesson pupils will train speaking, writing, listening, reading skills, will be able to speak on given topic using new vocabulary.
Teacher: Good morning pupils. How are you today? I hope well. So, look at the blackboard. The theme of our lesson is: This charming country Great Britain. Today we will have virtual travelling all over Great Britain and we will stop at different stations.
I hope by the end of the lesson you will learn something new about this country, repeat some words, train some grammar, speak a lot about Great Britain.
Teacher: So, let start our travelling and our first station is poems. I would like to start this lesson with the poem written by R. Burns. Once he wrote:
My heart’s in the Highlands, my heart is not here,
My heart’s in the Highlands a-chasing the deer -
A-chasing the wild deer, and following the roe;
My heart’s in the Highlands, wherever I go.
Teacher: Let’s read it together. And now we read the poem as if you were very happy. Well done and we can travel further.
Teacher: Our next station is key words. Speaking about this country we can use nouns, adjectives, verbs. Let’s recollect what nouns connected with our topic we will use today:
Pupils: pupils write vocabulary to the topic on cards
Nouns: Stonehenge, castle, landmark, ford, invasion , museum, charter, destination venue, access, anniversary
Verbs: To comprise, to host, to marvel , to revolve, to revolt, to stride, to disappear, to include
Adjectives: Regimental, extra-terrestrial, ancient, significant, military, desirable, medieval
Teacher: There are many words which we can use describing Great Britain. Now I will join you into two groups, you are given cards with synonyms. Combine them into pairs:

Teacher: So, if we talk about any country we can definitely say that each country has unofficial symbols. In our projects you have seen some official and unofficial symbols of G.B. Now if I say the Beatles what associations do you have? Yes, you are right- music. And our next station is music .We can definitely say that music makes the world go round. Today we will talk about British music. One of the most famous representatives of it is the Beatles So, tell me where did this group appear? What songs of this group do you know?
Now you are going to listen to the song. (Teacher distributes cards with the lyrics of the song)
