Тема «Свята і традиції»

Підтема уроку:  Улюблені свята.

Мета:

●    Практична:

- формувати навички монологічного мовлення учнів на рівні мікровисловлювання з опорою на наочність та ключові слова;

- вчити учнів уживати прийменники часу в усному та писемному мовленні;

- продовжувати практикувати учнівські навички аудіювання, читання, писемного та усного мовлення.

●    Освітня:

- ознайомити учнів з особливостями святкування традиційних свят у Великобританії;

- поглибити знання учнів з українознавства.

●    Розвивальна:

- розвивати увагу, пам’ять, мовну здогадку та фонематичний слух;

-  розвивати вміння ефективно працювати в різних режимах навчання і контролю ( самостійно, в парах). 

●   Виховна:

 - виховувати в учнів повагу до національних традицій та звичаїв;

 - виховувати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови та народознавства Великобританії.

Обладнання: зошит, підручник, аудіозапис, ноутбук, проектор, презентація, таблиця “Prepositions of time”, картки, роздатковий матеріал, малюнки.

Хід уроку

I. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1.Привітання. Оргмомент.

- Good morning, children! Be ready for the lesson. How are you today? I am glad to see you.

 2.   Повідомлення теми та мети уроку.

 Today the topic of our lesson is “Main Holidays in Ukraine and Great Britain”. We shall talk about different English traditions and customs,  learn new things about the traditions of celebration of different English holidays.

3.Фонетична зарядка.

- You see a poem on the blackboard. Listen, repeat it after me and read.

Holidays are fine,

Holidays are nice,

Just play and sing,

Enjoy them and dance!

(Учитель витирає рядки вірша через один на дошці. Учні намагаються розказати його із пам’яті, а потім – без підказок на дошці.)

4. Мовленнєва зарядка.

- Now let’s describe holidays as many adjectives as possible using the letters(h,o,l,i,d,a,y,s ), write down on the blackboard and explaine your oppinion. Use the structure “Holidays are ... , because ...  .”

1.   This is  the day when Ukrainian children begin going to school after summer holidays.
2.   This is  the day when men give flowers and presents to women.
3.   This is   the day when we decorate fir-trees and pine-trees.
4.   This is  the day when we paint eggs and bless food in the church.
5.   This is  the day when we congratulate our veterans.
6.   This is  the day when pupils congratulate their teachers
7.   This is  the day when we celebrate the independence of our country.
8.   This is  the day when we give presents and send cards to people we love.

3. When do the Ukrainians celebrate these holidays? Match the dates and the holidays. You will answer in a turn.

The last picture in our presentation was about Thanksgiving Day. Do you like this holiday? Have you ever celebrated this holiday?

b)  While – Listening Activities.

Listen and read the text to find out why this day is special for Melanie and her family.

Melanie is excited. She invited all her friends to a dinner party at her home. There are party decorations all over the flat — flags, balloons… It is a special day for her family.

Mrs Cooper: Hello kids. Thanks for coming.

Jasmine: Thank you for inviting us.

Lolly: Here are some flowers for you.

Mrs Cooper: Thank you, they are lovely.

Tom: Is it somebody's birthday?

Melanie: No, it isn't. It's Thanksgiving.

Luka: And what is Thanksgiving?

Melanie: It is an important holiday in America.

Mrs Cooper: Families get together and have a big dinner.

Tom: But we are not your family.

Mr Cooper: You are Melanie's friends and we always invite our friends, too.

David: Do you eat anything special on this day?

Mr Cooper: Yes, we do. We usually have roast turkey, corn, pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes.

Luka: Sweet potatoes?! You mean you put sugar on potatoes?!

Mr Cooper: No, no… ha, ha, ha…!

David: Do you sing any songs?

Mr Cooper: No, we don't. We just have our dinner and spend some time together.

Melanie: Sometimes we play some games. That's fun.

This day is special for Melanie and her family because it is an important holiday in America.

 Answer the questions.

3 What do they usually eat at Thanksgiving? - They usually have roast turkey, corn, pumpkin pie and sweet potatoes.

4 What do they usually do? - They just have their dinner and spend some time together

Listen again and complete the sentences. Exercise 6, p.120

1 The kids have got some flowers for Mrs Cooper.

- Read the dialogue. Read without mistake. Then you will get an extra point
