Підтема: Зимові свята

Цілі: повторити лексичні одиниці у рамках теми і закріпити їх вживання; практикувати учнів в усному мовленні, читанні та аудіюванні, розвивати мовленнєву реакцію, слухову пам`ять, увагу; вміння працювати в парах та в групах; розвивати та вдосконалювати навички самостійної роботи, розширити знання про культуру та традиції святкування Різдва в Україні та Великобританії; виховувати культуру спілкування, любов до рідної країни та виховувати інтерес до вивчення мови та традицій країни, мову якої вивчають.

Очікувані результати: на кінець уроку учні вмітимуть висловлюватися по темі «Різдво», навчаться правильно застосовувати тематичну лексику та вмітимуть працювати самостійно та в групі, робитимуть свої власні висновки.

Тип уроку: систематизації набутих знань.

Обладнання: ноутбук, підручник, відеозапис «This is Britain», ,,Christmas in Ukraine”, пісні «Jingle Bells» та «Щедрик, щедрик, щедрівочка», вітальні листівки, картки для самостійної роботи, роздатковий та ілюстративний матеріал.

І. ОРГАНІЗАЦІЙНИЙ МОМЕНТ

1. Привітання

Т: Good morning, dear children!

P: Hello, dear teacher,

Hello, how are you?

We are very happy

To say ,,hello” to you.

T: I am glad to see you at our lesson. Pupil, how are you? Please, show me the Smiley with your mood. (Діти показують смайлики, які відображають їх почуття) Т: OK. Today we are going to have unusual lesson because we have many guests. I’d like you to guess the topic of the lesson. To know the topic of our lesson we must read the poem.

Повідомлення теми і мети уроку Т: How do you think what is the topic of our lesson? The topic of our lesson is ,,Winter holidays”. You know that different people live in different countries. Different countries have different holidays and traditions. Today we are speaking about traditions in Great Britain and in Ukraine.

ІІ. УВЕДЕННЯ В ІНШОМОВНУ АТМОСФЕРУ. 1. Фонетична зарядка Т: By the way, British children know a lot of Christmas poems. Do you know some of them? Р: Yes, of course. (Діти декламують вірші) Р1: Christmas time is a beautiful time, with lights all red and green, I think it is the prettiest time, that I have ever seen! (показує малюнок і залишає на дошці)

Р2: Christmas magic, Christmas fun, Merry Christmas, everyone! (показує малюнок і залишає на дошці)

Р3: Сome and see, the Сhristmas tree, it is pretty, as can be. (показує малюнок і залишає на дошці

Р4: Santa Claus brings many toys, for little girls and little boys. (показує малюнок і залишає на дошці)

Т: I see, that you know a lot of Christmas poems. Well done!

2. Мовленнєва зарядка T: Say me, please, when do we celebrate Christmas? P1: We celebrate Christmas in winter. T: Do you like winter? P2: Yes, I do. T: What do you say about the weather in winter? P3: In winter the weather is cold, sometimes it is frosty. The sky is grey. The days are shorter, but the nights are longer. I like winter because we have many holidays. (під час розповіді вчитель прикріплює картинки на дошку навколо слова ,,winter”) T: What other holidays do we celebrate in winter? P4: We celebrate Christmas, New Year’s Day, St. Nicholas, St. Valentine’s Day. (на дошці слово ,,Holidays”. Учень прикріплює картинки названих свят) T: Today we are going to speak about them.

2. Подання нового матеріалу

T: People celebrate St. Valentine’s Day on the 14^th of February. People buy or make Valentine cards and send them to people they love. They should not write their names on the cards. Those who get them must guess who sent them. It is holiday for sweetheart. The symbol colour is red. (Вчитель роздає валентинки, учні підписують і кидають у скриньку) 2) Т: Ukrainians celebrate St. Nicholas Day on the 19^th of December. It is religious holiday. Children believe that St. Nicholas comes to their house at night and puts under their pillows different presents and sweets. When children get up in the morning they are very happy. I think, that you also wait for him. Now, please, let’s write the letter to St. Nicholas. (Діти пишуть листи і кидають у скриньку)

P: It is Ukrainian Christmas food/ dish. T: You will see a short film about how the Ukrainians celebrate Christmas. Say what people use to cook Kutya. P: Wheat (symbolize alternative future generations).
Honey (is a symbol of happiness and health).
Poppy seeds (is a symbol of youth).
Nuts (is to riches and fortunately).
Raisins (is life and love).

5.Розвиток діалогічного мовлення Dialogues T: Children we have guests from Great Britain. They also want to know about Ukrainian traditions. E-P₁: Hello. We are from Liverpool. It is in England. Christmas is our favorite holiday. It is in December in England. U-P₁: What do you like about Christmas? E-P₁: Our answer is Santa Claus, presents, Christmas Tree, parties and many other things. Now we have some questions for you. When do you have Christmas in Ukraine? U-P₂: In Ukraine we have Christmas on the 7^th of January. E-P₁: Does Santa Claus bring presents to Ukrainian Children? U-P₃: No, he doesn`t. Father Frost brings presents. We get them on New Year Day. E-P₁: We read that the Ukrainians had to cook a lot for Christmas. Is it true? U-P₄: Yes, it is. We must have 12 dishes. Kutya is one of the main dish. E-P₁: What do you usually do at Christmas? U-P₅: We usually meet with relatives. Some people act out in Vertep Show. Some of them sing Christmas songs. E-P₁: Do you go out singing carols with your friends? U-P₆: Yes, we go out singing carols with my friends. What was strange about Christmas in Britain? E-P1: The crackers! There is a toy and a paper hat inside. The British put their hats on, read out these terrible jokes and then eat their Lunch. Oh! Look! We have a present for you.

7. Розвиток навичок читання Reading 1) Pre-reading activity T: Maxym, what is your favourite winter holiday? P: It is New Year. T: Good. Let’s read the text about traditions of New Year in Ukraine and Great Britain.

2) While-reading activity New Year’s Day in England isn’t very important as in Ukraine. Because in our country New Year’s Day is the main holiday in the year. Ukrainians decorate New Year’s Tree, exchange presents, greet each other. English do this on Christmas. Ukrainians like to sing New Year’s songs and kolyadkas. 3) Post-reading activity T: Mark true and false sentences 1. New Year’s Day in England is very important in Ukraine. 2. New Year’s Day is the main holiday in the year. 3. Ukrainians don’t decorate New Year’s Tree. 4. Ukrainians give each other presents. 5. English don’t exchange present on Christmas. (Вчитель зачитує речення, учні піднімають картки червоного кольору, якщо речення правильне, якщо неправильне – картки чорного кольору). 8. Підведення підсумків уроку

Game ,,Tree of Holidays” T: There is a pot with the plant on the desk. The plant is decorated with several colorful candies. There is a note with the meaning of the holiday in each candy. Take the candy, wind it off, read the note and say ,,What holiday is it?”

We say ,,Marry Christmas”.
We sing ,,Jingle Bells”.
We buy a New Year tree.
Santa Claus puts presents into stockings.
This holiday is on the 14^th of February.
People send Valentine cards.
This holiday is on the 19^th of December.
Ukrainian children find presents under their pillow. T: Then decorate our New Year tree by yours toys, which point to your mood at the end of our lesson. (Діти прикрашають ялинку виготовленими іграшками, які вказують на їх настрій в кінці уроку)

Оцінювання учнів. T: We were well done today. (Вчитель характеризує роботу кожного учня і виставляє оцінки) Thanks you very much for your work today. We shall meet again on Monday next week. You may go out.
