Тема уроку: Глобальні проблеми (‘Global issues’).Активізація вивчених лексичних одиниць. Фразові дієслова.

Цілі уроку:

Практична:

1. Активізувати лексику з теми «Навколишнє середовище» в усному та писемному мовленні учнів

2. Удосконалити вміння висловлюватись в межах теми «Довкілля»

3. Розширити словниковий запас учнів

Освітня:

1. Розширити кругозір учнів щодо способів вирішення екологічних проблем в іноземних англомовних країнах та організацій, спрямованих на захисті довкілля
2. Навчити дітей розрізняти поділ природніх та соціальних небезпек, аналізувати причини їх виникнення

Виховна:

1. Виховувати бережливе ставлення до природи
2. Мотивувати дотримання правил екологічної безпеки

Розвивальна: розвивати вміння учнів зіставляти та аналізувати подану інформацію

Обладнання уроку: підручник, аудитивний текст, зображення стихійних та техногенних лих (презентація)

• Today you will explore some interesting information about the worldwide organization which solved the global issues, work with collocations and prepositions, improve your grammar skills and cooperation in groups.

IV. Робота в групах.

Мета: розширити словниковий запас учнів, розвивати аналітичні здібності, навчити дітей розрізняти поділ природніх та соціальних небезпек

Методичний прийом:  робота в групах

• Let’s join into 2 groups. Each of you receives a box with words. Please, copy the headings into your notebooks. (deforestation, endangered species, global warming, illiteracy, rubbish, homelessness, disease, racism, air pollution, war, poverty)
• Elicit the meanings of any unknown words and I will explain them to you.
• As you know, the widespread problems are called the global issues. They can be divided into social and natural. In 3 minutes, make your choice and make the list of social and natural ones. Go to the blackboard and fill the chart.

b) Робота зі словосполученнями

Мета: розвинути вміння учнів працювати зі словосполученнями та їх правильним застосуванням у текстах наукового характеру

Методичний прийом: бесіда

Учні перекладають словосполучення з довідки, читають тексти та доповнюють їх, вставивши необхідне слово.

-Now you are going to practice collocations related to global issues. Find exercise 3, page 13 and read the task.

Вчитель пояснює значення незрозумілих слів :

Orphan - a child whose parents are dead.

Non-profit – charity organization

Endangered – something that is in danger and can disappear

Учні доповнюють тексти словами з довідки, утворивши інформацію про благодійні організації. Учні зачитують результати своєї роботи.

Методичні прийоми : сприймання тексту на слух
- You are going to listen to the text 2 times. Listen to the audio and fill in the text on p.121 in your Student’s book.
- Copy these words with their prepositions in the Prepositions Section in your notebooks and revise them as often as possible.

V. Робота з аудіозаписом

Мета: навчити учнів сприймати іншомовний текст на слух, вміти аналізувати подану інформацію та висловлювати власне бачення ситуації

Методичні прийоми:  висловлювання учнів

Перед першим прослуховуванням учні отримують випереджальне завдання з’ясувати, чим займався головний герой розповіді, працюючи волонтером на Півдні. 

- Listen to someone talking about his experience volunteering in Africa for the first time and be ready to answer the question : what was his occupation there.

Suggested answer key:

• He was in Ghana. He volunteered as an English teacher.

-Listen to the text at the second time and name his favourite experience.

Suggested answer key:

• His favourite experience was playing football with his students after lessons.

VI.      Інтерактивна вправа «Мікрофон»

Мета: розвинути монологічні вміння учнів за темою «Довкілля», «Захист природи»

Методичні прийоми: бесіда

Учні дають повні відповіді на запитання, вислуховуючи однокласників

• Let’s answer the questions:

1. Would you like to be volunteer abroad?
2. What work would you like to do?

Suggested Answer key:

• Yes, I think I would like to volunteer abroad. It would be an interesting experience. It would feel nice to know that I am helping other people. I think I would like to do something that helps poor people make their lives better, such as building a school or digging a well in a village in Africa.

VII. Підведення підсумків уроку

• Summing up our lesson, tell me, please : does the modern society need to have the volunteers? (Yes, because they help to save the planet from disasters, damage and rescue endangered species of animals and plants)
• Thank you for collaboration! You worked in groups greatly, listened to your classmates’ opinions attentively and discussed some issues successfully. For the next time join into 3 groups (Groups A, B and C)  and do research about the country in the developing world. Prepare a PowerPoint presentation to raise awareness about the different problems that this country faces. Let’s revise the lexic based on natural and technological disasters.
