Topic : Time for discovery

Duration : 45 minutes

Lesson 4 : Plans for summer

Objectives: 1)students will repeat lexical material.

2)Students will listen to the text and do the test.

3)Students will read about summer camp timetable.

4)Students will make a dialogue.

Students are expected:

-to develop their communicative ,reading, listening and writing skills,speaking about their plans for summer holidays;

-to consolidate cooperation and friendship for pair and group work.

Required materials: a computer,a bookEnglish 5 (O.Karpiuk),

cards with the sentences for a dialogue,ріctures with faces.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

        1. 2. Introductory focus (20 minutes)

T:Good morning pupils! Nice to see you  at our lesson. Today we are going to speak, read, write, and play games. But first of all I want you do one thing. On your desks you have pictures with 4 faces. They are OK, Good, So-so and Bad. I hope that you are in a good mood today. But you can evaluate your mood yourself. Choose and show a Face according to your mood, please.

              

 

 

                            

 

 

T: I see most of you have a good mood and you are ready to work.

Now look at each other and smile .A warm smile will encourage our work .

T:Today we are going to speak about your summer holidays.You will listen to the text,do the test,read about summer camp timetable and make the dialogue about your holidays.

T: Look at the board.You have the cloud of words on it .Your first task is to find,read the words or word-combinations  and write down them into your exercise book.(екологічна безпека й сталий розвиток)-метод глобалізації,компетентність-екологічна грамотність і здорове життя.

 

 

 

2.Brainstorming (5 minutes.)

T:Now let’s make sentences using the example:

We are going to ride by bikes

We’ll be able to live in the tent.

3.Guided Practice (10 minutes)(підприємливість і фінансова грамотність),ключова компетентність-ініціативність і підприємливість

- T:Now game”Microphone”-імерсійний метод,компетентність-соціальна і громадянська.

Some of you will be reporters and will answer the question:Why do you like summer holidays?

Other pupils will answer:I like summer holidays because I can…

- live in a tent

- make a fire

- take part in concerts

- play sports

- read a lot

- gather berries and mushrooms

- have fun in a camp

- have long walks

- play with my friends

- get up late in the morning

- travel

- play a lot outdoors

- sunbathe

- enjoy living in a village

 

-Your  next task is to read about summer camp timetable (Ex.2,p.232) and answer in pairs.

 

Let’s do it one by one.

P1:What time are they going to… .?

P2:Are they going to…at…o’clock?

P3:What are they going to do at…?

T: Now we’ll work in groups.We have sentences and your task is to put them correctly to make the dialogue(громадянська відповідальність):

- No,we are going by bus.

- I’m going to spend them in the village.

- How long are you going to stay there?

- Are you going by train?

- Where are you going to spend your holidays?

- For three weeks,I think.

T: Act out your dialogues in pairs

 

T:  have already understood that your homework will be to make your own dialogue about your plans for summer holidays.

Ex.6,p.234

4.Closure (10 minutes)

T: So our lesson is coming to the end.

Today we  repeated words and word-combinations, listened to the text ,did the test,and made the dialogue.

 Tell me,please,has your mood changed?(How are you now?)

Draw smiles.

You were very active and hard working .

The lesson is over.
