T: Good afternoon, dear pupils. Sit down. The topic we are going to discuss is one of the most actual problems of the world- it is the protection of nature, keeping our environment clear and safe. I think that our lesson will be interesting. Our main task is to find and to solve the main problems of our nature. So we have decided to divide into two groups. They are the explorers and the experts. One of them will be discuss them and the other will try to solve these problems. I would like you to look at the pictures on the blackboard and read the motto by Ernest Hemingway “The world is a fine place and worth fighting for”. Do you agree with it? And why?
P: Yes, I do. I think that everybody on the Earth must think of saving our planet before it is too late.
T: Yes, of course. Now I suggest you to listen to and to read the poem “All for you”. During the reading we shall practice the sounds

Greenpeace
Greenpeace is an international environmental organization. It was founded in 1969 by a group of Canadian environmentalists. Members of Greenpeace appear in the places where the environment is endangered. They always act fast and bravely. The whole world knows about the Greenpeace actions to stop hunting whales or killing baby seals. They block the way to the ships that try to dump waste, and work hard to create a nuclear-free world. The activity of Greenpeace often annoys governments, companies and people who don't care about the future of the world.
Sometimes Greenpeace activity can be quite dangerous. For example, on July 10, 1985, the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior that was on its way to French Polynesia to protest against nuclear tests, was destroyed by French agents. It created a serious international accident.
Greenpeace has offices in many countries of the world including Russia. People, who can't take part in Greenpeace actions directly, support this organization with money. Greenpeace members are often referred to as "greens". The "greens" are groups of people whose aim is protection of natural things, e.g. plants and animals.

P1. I think it’s massive deforestation. Rainforests grow near the equator. Half of all species of butterflies, birds, flowers, trees and insects lives there. Our planet needs rainforests to control its climate.
P2. It’s Greenhouse effect. Greenhouse effect is the problem of Earth’s rising temperature. Now, because of pollution, there are more gases in the Earth atmosphere. So our planet becomes hotter.
P3. It is Acid rain. Acid rain is the result of mixing gases, chemicals and water in the atmosphere. This mixture falls back to earth and kills plants. They can harm people too. Seven million hectares of West European forests are dead or dying because of acid rain.
P4. It is pollution. Pollution from powers plants spoils the atmosphere.
P5. Sea pollution is very dangerous because fish and sea animals die.
P6. These are Chemicals. Chemicals in food harm people’s health.
