John Constable Was born in Suffolk in 1776. His father was a rich mill owner Began to paint in early age

In 1800 Constable entered the Royal Academy School and 2 years later he made some exhibitions of his works.

He developed his style in painting, but still wasn’t famous in England. He was much better known in France, though he never left England.

In 1824 his landscape 'The Hay Wain' won a gold medal at the Salon in Paris.

We can see his beautiful paintings in the best museums of the world: London national Gallery, Tate Gallery and the metropolitan Museum of Art.

Joseph Turner Was born in 1775, in London, in the family of barber. Began to sketch pictures when he was a young boy.

He enjoyed drawing outside pictures, especially buildings.

When he was just fourteen years old he began to attend the Royal Academy of Art in London. He continued to sketch and work with water colours.

Sea remained his passion. He loved painting sea, storms, ships, fishermen and sailors at work.

Gainsborough was one of the great masters of 18th century painting in Britain, best known for his portraits. He was also the first creator of the English school of landscape painting.

In the painting of Mr. and Mrs. Andrews the landscape is as equally important as the subjects.

He was a musician who played the viola. He once said, "I paint portraits to make money, landscapes because I love them, and music because I can't leave it alone". 

Once he used a head of broccoli as his model to represent woods in a background. 

He painted many pictures in his lifetime, about 200 of these were paintings of people.

He became very rich and famous because the rich people wanted him to paint pictures of their families. Even King George III asked him to paint the royal family.

It is thought it is a picture of Jonathan Buttall, who was the son of a rich merchant. Thоmas Gainsborouqh painted it over another painting he had already started to paint.
