Some facts about Ireland. The capital is Dublin. The official languages of Ireland are Irish and English. The Irish Flag is broken up into thirds:the green represents the catholic majority, the orange represents the Protestants and the white represents peace and harmony between them. The River Shannon which is a very famous Irish River is the longest river in Ireland. Ireland is known as the emerald isle because of its vast plains of lush greenery. Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated on the 17th March and is recognized as the Irish National day.
St. Patrick’s Day all over the world. At 16 years old he was kidnapped by pirates and taken to Ireland where he was sold as a slave. As a slave he was forced to work as a shepherd. He spent many long hours alone taking care of the sheep out in the fields. He felt lonely and scared. During this time Patrick began to think about God. He repented from his sin and unbelief and he turned to God with all his heart.
