My Family

1. God has blessed me with an amazing family that is my joy and support.
2. My immediate family is small although my extended family is quite large.
3. I live in a nuclear family with my parents and a younger (elder) brother (sister).
4. I couldn’t wish for better parents. They are just great.
5. My Dad is a businessman and works for himself (is a freelancer).
6. He’s in his early forties (late thirties).
7. I look up to him because he is so clever and is always there for me in the good and bad times.
8. My Mum is in her late thirties but she doesn’t look her age.
9. She is very understanding and supportive and she can give me good advice.
10. They say I took after her and I’m proud of that.
11. My sibling is currently a student at school and is immature yet.
12. I get on well with my brother though at times he drives me crazy as he shows off every time we are out together and uses my smartphone all the time.
13. For this reason we fall out but make up very quickly. 
14. My parents have been married for … years and they are definitely soul mates.
15. They have lots in common and do everything together.
16. My dad usually helps out my Mum with housework and runs some errands at the weekend.
17. No parents are perfect but when it comes to some argument they talk things through and never go ballistic.
18. They aren’t too critical and almost never tell me off.
19. They always respect my need for privacy and never read my text messages.
20. So they are truly wonderful people and I’ve got no reason to complain.
21. Anyway they lay down some ground rules about bedtime, things we must do in the house, homework and so on.
22. I must admit (my sibling and) I try to stick to the rules but sometimes when I push the limits we never row or have a fight.
23. My parents take my opinion seriously even if it’s against your better judgement.
24. What’s more important they never give me the silent treatment or stop their allowance.
25. I think they bring me up really well.
