My Last Summer Holidays

1. It’s fun to have holidays after each term at school.
2. You needn’t get up early in the morning and hurry to school.
3. Summer holidays are the longest in Ukraine.
4. They last for three months.
5. I usually spend them in different ways.
6. While my parents work, I stay at home. I watch TV, read fantastic books or work on a computer to improve my skills. Sometimes I play with my friends on line. It’s great fun.
7. At weekends my parents and I go to the river to swim or we ride our bikes in the forest. Everyone in our family has a bicycle and is good at cycling.
8. When my parents are on leave, we visit places of interest.

10.       This summer we went to the Crimea.
11.       My father is a keen tourist and he loves the Carpathians greatly.
12.       That’s why he recommended this trip with excitement.
13.       It is a land of legends and magic, fascinating [ˈfæsɪneɪtɪŋ] (зачаровуючий) landscapes and fantastic people.
14.       We got there by car because it’s the best ways of travelling.
15.       The nature is so magnificent [mæɡˈnɪfɪs(ə)nt] (величний) that we couldn’t stand staying in the car. We stopped and had a look around.
16.       The travelling agency had arranged everything for us in advance.
17.       They offered interesting and safe treks with places for camps.
18.       The experienced guides leaded us during our excursions.
19.       There was even a cook to prepare delicious meals.
20.       We enjoyed brynza cheese, smoked dishes and mushroom broth [brɒθ] (юшка).
21.       We stayed both in the hostels on a trek and in the tents high in the mountains.
22.       It was very romantic as the weather was good. There weren’t any clouds in the sky and we admired the stars falling down.
23.       During the trip we visited resort towns Yaremche, Verkhovyna, Nadvirna and climbed Hoverla.
24.       I took a lot of photos and we bought some souvenirs there: embroidery for our granny, a woodcutting board for mum and warm woolen things made by hutsuls.
25.       I consider the Carpathians a wonderful place for tourism and rest.
26.       I’m sure my trip to the Carpathian mountains was full of pleasant moments and new impressions
27.       Frankly speaking I’m looking forward to our next summer rest.
