Lesson 1
Kinds of music.
Type: Remote lesson provided on educational platform Google Meet.
Aim: developing listening and speaking skills using vocabulary of the lesson.
Aim: to get students interested in the topic
Students look at the board, see statements which belong to famous people. They should fulfill them in order to guess the theme:

Marilyn Manson.
Aim: to find out what students already know or can do with the target language.
Teacher: Today we are going to talk about styles of music and musical instruments. What styles of music do you know?
Styles of music (Students listen to different melodies and guess the style)

Musical instruments (Ss listen to different instruments and put them in order)
Teacher: You know that musical instruments can be divided into four groups. Look at the board and guess Ukrainian translation of these words.

Aim : to introduce new vocabulary, meaning and pronunciation.
Teacher: Music plays an important role in our life. Music can inspire us, heal our souls. Do you agree with me? What adjectives can we use to describe pieces of music?

Task 1. Match the adjectives in the box to their meanings below.
MEANINGS:
• making someone feel more relaxed and less emotional: calming
• causing worry or anxiety: unsettling
• making someone feel full of energy or enthusiasm: energising
• making someone feel better: uplifting
• making someone feel emotional: moving
• preventing someone from concentrating on something: distracting

Aim: to check if students can understand and use new vocabulary
Students use Jam board and do the task individually. Then check in class.
Task 2. Choose the most suitable adjectives in these sentences.
• One of the documentary's many unsettling/calming images is of a child playing with his father's gun.
• People love charming and energizing/uplifting love stories with happy endings.
• Everyone went silent when the room filled with the distracting/entrancing music.
• The actors could feel that it was a deeply moving/relaxing experience for the audience.
• Taking long, deep breaths can have a calming/unsettling effect and reduce stress.
Aim: using vocabulary of the lesson for expressing opinion

Music in my life.

Aim: developing listening and speaking skills using vocabulary of the lesson in order to prepare for final project on the current topic.
Aim: to get students interested in the topic
