The Little Red Riding Hood
Once upon a time
A little girl lived in the wood.
She lived with her mother
The girl was very good!
“I’ve got a red coat
With a red hood.
That is why people call me
Little Red Riding Hood.”
One day her mum said,
“Our Granny is very ill.
She lives on the other side of the wood
And she needs some medicine!”
“Oh poor Granny –
She has a bad cough.”
“Watch out for strangers!”
And the little girl set off.
In the middle of the forest
She met a Wolf.
“Where are you going,
Little Red Riding Hood?”
“I am going to my Granny.
She is very ill.
She lives in the forest
And she needs some medicine!”
The Wolf was very bad.
He was mean and rude.
So when he heard about Granny
He ran to her house as fast as he could.
The Wolf went into the house
And ate poor Granny in one gulp.
He poked through Granny’s wardrobe
To find a nightgown that he liked.
Then he got into Granny’s bed.
Little Red Riding Hood reached the house.
Granny lived there for fifty years
Or thereabouts.
The girl looked at the Wolf.
“Granny, what big eyes you have!”
“All the better to see you with!”
The Wolf explained.
Little Red Riding Hood wondered,
“Granny, what big ears you have!”
“All the better to hear you with!”
The Wolf explained.
Little Red Riding Hood exclaimed,
“Granny, what a big nose you have!”
“All the better to smell you with!”
The Wolf explained.
Little Red Riding Hood said,
“Granny, you have big teeth!”
The Wolf shouted,
“All the better to eat you up with!”
Suddenly the girl saw
That it was not her grandma.
But it was too late.
The Wolf swallowed her in a big gulp.
Hunters arrived to Granny’s house
A few minutes later.
They cut the Wolf’s belly open
And saved the girl and Granny.
Little Red Riding Hood and her Granny
Roared with laughter.
Everybody was very happy
And lived happily ever after.
