Procedure
I Greeting
T: Good morning, children! Today we`ll learn how to name some parts of the body and listen to a new story about our heroes Rosy and Billy. But at first let`s repeat our numerals.
Warming-up
1. Counting Chain Game
Start a counting chain: the first pupil in the chain says “One”, the next pupil says “Two”, the next one “Three”, and so on. After “Ten”, go back to “One” again. Any pupil who hesitates or says the wrong number is out. The last two or three pupils to remain in are the winners.
II Lead-in
T: Look at me, please. This is my nose. This is my face. This is my arm. This is my leg. This is my ear. What`s this?
T: Point to your nose (face, ear, leg, arm) and say the word.
1. Stick the cards to the board. Teach the words using the flashcards: arms, nose, face, legs, ears. Point to a flashcard so that the whole class can see it. If necessary, walk round the room and show it to pupils. Pronounce every word clearly. Do choral and individual repetition. Follow the same procedure three or four times.
III Practice
1 Listen, point and repeat
T: Open your books. Exercise 1, page 20. Look at different parts of the body. Listen to the CD (30) and point to the pictures: arms, nose, face, legs, ears.
T: Now listen to the recording once more and repeat the words.
2 Listen and chant.
T: Listen to the chant and try to remember the words. Listen to the chant a second time and point to the correct part of your own body when you hear it:
Arms, arms, arms,
Nose, nose, nose,
Face, face, face,
Legs, legs, legs,
Ears, ears, ears.
T: It`s time to play. Look at the cards. You can see only a part of the picture. Your task is to guess and name the word. So, what`s this?
3 Listen and repeat
Before listening task
T: Look at the story poster 3. Who can you see?
P1: Rosy.
P: Billy.
T: Yes, you are right. Look at the first picture. Repeat and point to the pictures: Rosy’s arms/legs/nose, Billy`s face/legs/arms.
While listening task
T: Look at the poster while listening to the story. Try to point to the speech bubbles as you hear them.
After listening task
T: Does Rosy put sun cream on her arms? Where does Billy put sun cream?
P1: On her arms (nose).
P2: On his nose (face, arms, legs, ears).
IV Summary
T: Excellent. The lesson goes to the end. What did we do at the lesson? What activities did you like most of all? Was it interesting for you to work at the lesson? Did you like our lesson? Why?
