ТЕМА: Об'єднане королівство Великобританії та Північної Ірландії,

ПІДТЕМА: Національні традиції та географічне положення Великобританії.

ЗАДАЧІ: Читання та обговорення тематичного тексту. Діалогічне та монологічне мовлення з теми. Повторення граматичного матеріалу -умовні речення (І тип).

ПРАКТИЧНА МЕТА: навчити узагальнювати та використовувати на практиці в усному та писемному мовленні отриману інформацію з теми; організувати читання учнями тексту «про себе»; організувати тренування учнів по оперуванню граматичним матеріалом на рівні речення.

ОСВІТНЯ МЕТА: розширювати знання учнів з географії та національних традицій країни, мова якої вивчається.

РОЗВИВАЮЧА МЕТА: розвивати вміння навчальної співпраці при виконанні колективних проектів; розвивати довготривалу пам'ять, уяву, здатність самостійно планувати мовний вчинок; розвивати культуру читання, в зв'язку з чим передбачити виділення смислових уривків тексту; розвивати мовну реакцію, вміння логічно послідовно викладати думки іноземною мовою,

ВИХОВНА МЕТА: виховувати зацікавленість до навчально-пізнавальної діяльності на уроках іноземної мови; виховувати культуру спілкування та повагу до традицій та звичаїв країни, мова якої вивчається.

Т: Today we'll speak about Great Britain and by the end of the lesson you'll be able to make up dialogues and stories according to the topic.

T:If the action takes place under this or that conditions referring to the future we use a special structure. (Вчитель показує учням схему "Умовні речення»).

Т: Look at this scheme. We use the present simple tense in the subordinate clause and in the main one we use the future simple tense. But both sentences are translated in future.

English Customs and Traditions

There are a lot of countries in the world. And every country has its own customs and traditions. So has Great Britain. Every country has its own flag, symbols and national holidays. And so has Great Britain. The national flag of Great Britain is called the Union Jack. It is made of three crosses: the cross of St.George (the patron saint of England), the cross of St.Andrew (the patron saint of Scotland), the cross of St.Patrick (the patron saint of Ireland). It is red, white and blue. The English flag is white with a red cross. The Scottish flag has a white cross on a blue background. The Welsh flag shows a red dragon. There are four parts in Britain. Traditions are different in them, St.George's Day falls on April 23 and celebrated as an England's national day. On this day some patriotic Englishmen wear a red rose pinned to their jackets. A red rose is the national emblem of England from the time of the Wars of the Roses (the 15^th century). St.Andrew's Day (November 30) is a Scotland's national day. On this day some Scots wear a thistle in their buttonhole. As a national emblem of Scotland, thistle first was used in the 15^th century as a symbol of defence. St.Рatrick's Day (March 17) is a national day in Northern Ireland and an official bank holiday there. The national emblem of Ireland is a shamrock. It is shown the idea of Christianity of the Trinity to the Irish. St.David's Day (March 1) is the national holiday in Wales. It is the church festival of St.David. The national emblem of Wales is a daffodil.
