Цели:

Задачи:

1. Розвивати  лексичні  навички, вміння і мовну  здогадку.

2. Розвивати навички  аудіювання і говоріння .

3. Ознайомити з звичаями святкування Дня Святого Патрика в Ірландії, Великобританії та Америці (розвивати  соціокультурну обізнаність).

4. Розвивати творчі здібності учнів.

5. Розвиток пам'яті, уваги, мислення;

6. Розвивати  уміння  працювати в колективі і приймати  спільні рішення;

7. Розвивати позитивні особистісні  якості (відповідальність, доброзичливість, почуття взаємодопомоги)

8. Виховувати повагу до культури своєї  країни та країн, що  вивчається.

Equipment: computer, interactive board, a map of Ireland, cards, pictures, green balloon, a pot of  “gold”, cakes.

Ход урока.

1. T:: Good afternoon, boys and girls, teachers and guests. We are glad to see you all here on this wonderful day.

Our today’s lesson will be devoted to traditions. Traditions are very important in the life of people. They tell us about our past, they show us who we are, where we belong. They make our life more interesting and beautiful.

What kind of traditions can there be? (Suggested answers: national, family, sport, school, language, religious, cultural, musical etc).

T: Let’s talk about these traditions and holidays.

Firstly repeat the names of the holidays and traditions which we learnt on our previous lesson. (show the pictures of different holidays  and name them)

Easter, Mother’s Day, Christmas, New Year’s Day, Halloween, Independence Day, Victory Day, St. Valentine’s Day, St. Nikolas Day, the day of Knowledge, May Day , Constitution Day.

T: What of these are holidays and what are the traditions?

What’s your favourite holiday?

P: My favourite holiday is …..  or It is ……..

2. Today we’ll speak with you, as you guess, St. Patrick’s day. This holiday is celebrated by Irish people and American, Canadian, British ones. I want to tell you about Irish people and their country Ireland. (Sl.2)

Some fact about it.

• The capital is Dublin  Приложение  4.
• The national emblem is shamrock.
• The official languages of Ireland are Irish and English.
• The Irish Flag is broken up into thirds: the green represents the catholic majority, the orange represents the Protestants and the white represents peace and harmony between them. 
• The River Shannon which is a very famous Irish River is the longest river in Ireland.
• Ireland is known as the emerald isle because of its vast plains of lush greenery.
• Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated on the 17th March and is recognized as the Irish National day.

St. Patrick day has old story. Let’s tell about it. (sl.3)

P1: Святий Патрік - один з найбільш шанованих у всьомусвіті Святих. Західна Церква відзначає день його пам'яті 17 березня, а православна Церква шанує його пам'ять 30 березня.

P2: Святий Патрік – християнський святий і покровитель Ірландії.(sl.4,5) Вважається, що сааме він поширив християнство в Ірландії. Згідно творів, Патрік народився в IV столітті в керованої  Римом Британії в заможній родині. У віці 16 років він був викрадений піратами і відвезений в рабство в Ірландію. За роки рабства Патрік знайшов віру в Бога.

P3: Через шість років він, нарешті, зважився на втечу. Йому вдалося потрапити на корабель і дістатися на ньому в Галію.Одного разу Патрік побачив сон, в якому Бог велів йому повернутися в те місце, звідки він втік.

P4: Так Патрік знову прибув до Ірландії в 432 році, але вже як проповідник християнства.Зцього моменту починається його місіонерська діяльність. До цього ірландці, в основному, були язичниками. (sl.6)

P5: Згідно з переказами, святий Патрік під час проповіді про Святу Трійцю зірвав зростаючю  під ногами конюшину і, високо піднявши трилисник над головою, наочно показав ірландцям, як Бог батько, Ісус Христос і Святий Дух складають  єдність.

P6: З тих пір три зелених листочка конюшини стали ірландським символом Святої Трійці, а зелений коліртрилисника – кольором всієї нації. Саме тому зелений одяг в День святого Патріка - це символ Святої Трійці.

T: I’d like to add that each leaves in the clover symbolize for faith, hope and love.

T: Can you tell me if our country has similar holiday? Which of it?

Ps: It’s Holy Trinity.

T: Do you know that on this holiday if you don’t have green colours on your clothes we can pinch that person. That’s why let’s pin the shamrock which you can see in front of you. But our leaves are not ordinal, they have four leaves. It means you’d  like to make a wish. (pinch the leaves on your clothes)

P1: Але у Дня святого Патріка є і язичницькі мотиви. Так, одним з його неодмінних героїв є лепрекони – казкові чоботарі, що володіють захованим горщиком із золотом. Якщо щасливому шукачеві скарбів вдасться зловити лепрекона, то ця істота повинна розповісти людині, де заховані його скарби. (sl.7)

P2: Втім, якщо ви раптом зловите башмачника, то пам'ятайте, що повністю вірити йому неслід, - ці чоловічки підступні і пустотлива і легко можуть обдурити довірливого шукача скарбів.

T: Now tell me, guys, do you want to find the pot of gold? If we solve all the riddles of this prankster, we’ll get gold.

But if we find a pot of gold, we will need to count the coins. And for this we need to remember the numbers.

VOCABULARY

At the beginning we need to learn how Irish people greet each other.

The first word is “craic”. Воно перекладається як:«справи» . Ірландці питають “What’s your craic? А відповісти ми маємо теж по ірландські  “grand”—I am grand. (work on the chain)

On the blackboard is a poster with the symbols of the holiday and the words to them. The teacher shows the picture and pronounces the word, the students repeat. The purpose of the exercise: to learn how to pronounce new words. (sl.8-17)

Form of work: frontal.

Teacher: Look at the board. You can see some pictures with the symbols of the holiday there. Let's learn to pronounce and read them correctly. Listen and repeat the words after me.

St. Patrick is celebrated on                       in

 

Ireland                   and all over the world by people of Irish origins. Saint Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. He lived during the fifth century and brought Christianity to Ireland.

The shamrock                 is a symbol of the holiday. Many Irish people wear a shamrock on their jackets and hats. Kids and young people like to paint green colour on their faces.

The Leprechauns are magic creatures. They have a pot of
