Виховний захід на тему: «Travelling around the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland»

Анотація

Безперечно, вивчення іноземної мови без знання культури й історії країн, у яких нею спілкуються неможливе. А от застосування країнознавчих соціокультурних завдань необхідне на всіх етапах її освоєння. Так, розробка виховного заходу «Travelling around the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland» присвячена ознайомленню зі Сполученим Королівством Великої Британії та Північної Ірландії. 

Захід розроблено для учнів старших класів, училищ, ліцеїв і гімназій з метою ознайомити учнів з культурою та традиціями народу, мова якого вивчається.

Матеріал, використаний під час проведення виховного заходу, відповідає віковим особливостям і рівню розвитку учнів.

 Розробку рекомендовано  для використання вчителями під час проведення тижнів і декад англійської мови, англомовних вечорів, позакласних заходів, лінгвокраїнознавчих гуртків і секцій. Використання автентичних матеріалів  (відео запис пісень «Yesterday» гурту «Beatles», «London» («Brandon Heath»), відео «Top 10 Attractions London»), презентації, різних форм роботи (групова, індивідуальна) та  сучасних технічних засобів навчання сприяє активізації уваги дітей та створенню позитивному емоційно-психологічному клімату.

Крім того, учні мають змогу продемонструвати свої знання в усіх  видах мовленнєвої діяльності (аудіюванні, говорінні, читанні та письмі), застосувати їх, виконавши різні завдання (speedy department (завдання на швидкість, Quiz «Britain and the British» (вікторина), сomplaint department (відділ скарг), іnteresting department (цікава інформація), department «Who is the best of the best»  («Хто кращий із кращих?»).

 

 

 

 

                                  Мета:

• навчальна: узагальнювати лексичний і мовний матеріал; удосконалювати навички діалогічного та монологічного мовлення; активізувати в мовленні вивчені лексичні одиниці, мовні зразки, граматичні структури;
• розвиваюча: розвивати аналітичне мислення, комунікативне мовлення; формувати в учнів самостійність, активність, творчу ініціативу.
• виховна: виховувати особистість із позитивним ставленням до різних країн світу.

Вид діяльності: пізнавальний.

1. Організаційний момент. Оголошення теми заходу

Teacher: Good morning pupils and colleges! Today we are having an unusual virtual trip around the world. We’ll speak about some interesting facts about  different countries, sights and famous peoples.  Everyone knows that studying  language consist of country’s culture where this language is spoken.  All the pupils of Ukrainian schools do not have opportunities  to go to England  or to the USA or even to our native capital.

Of course every teacher can tell many interesting  facts about these countries but it better  to see than to hear. That’s why I organized virtual excursion about United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Now I propose you  to be divided  into two groups. First  let’s remember some words  which will be very helpful in our trip.  Also our excursion have got several departments. Students, how are you?  Are you ready? Let’s go!

Speedy Department

Teacher: As you know every topic can be presented through proverbs. The subject of our extracurricular event is «Travelling around the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland».

Interesting Department

Teacher: Travelling is always exciting. We meet new people, visit new places, get a lot of impressions. We enjoy the beauty of these places, explore them and go sightseeing.  Now I invite you to visit “The London Eye”. What do you know about the London Eye? Can you guess the content of the text judging from the title? Read this text and find the answers to these questions (Діти читають тексти та виконують тестові завдання) (See card 3).

Before we go on the Eye, I’d like to give you a little information about London itself. The London Eye stands on the river Thames and many of the city’s  most famous landmarks are nearby. It is because of the river that London was founded here in the first place.

The city grew but the river was always at its heart – importing and exporting goods for sale around the world. Now the Thames has become a source of pleasure to Londoners  with its riverbank developments.

As for the Eye itself … it took seven years to complete. It was built to celebrate the New Millennium and interesting thing is that it was constructed piece by piece throughout Europe. As it was the biggest observation wheel ever designed, there was no single place it could be built. The main structure was built in Holland, the central part was built in the Czech Republic, the cables were made in Italy and the capsules in France. So it is really a truly European project!
