Тема: Brain – ring “We love sport”

Цілі: проконтролювати ступінь за­своєння знань, сформованості на­вчальних умінь та навичок учнів з теми «Спорт»; узагальнити грама­тичний матеріал; розви­вати навички розуміння прочитано­го, навички діалогічного та моноло­гічного мовлення; сприяти розвитку логічного мислення учнів; виховувати пізна­вальний інтерес до вивчення анг­лійської мови, старанність і повагу один до одного; розширювати кру­гозір учнів.

Обладнання: картки, ілюстрації, проектор, ноутбук, дошка, презентація, ножиці, клей.

Хід проведення

- Today we have Brain – ring “We love sport”. (Слайд 1)

Let’s divide into two teams.

The first team is …..

The second team is ……

І.─ We'll begin our competition with a poem about sport but you have to make it.

(the poem is cut into stripеs) (Слайд 2)

Sport is fun for girls and boys,

It's much better than the toys.

You can swim and play football!

Hockey, tennis, basketball.

You can jump and you can run,

You can have a lot of fun!

─ Do you have a lot of fun going in for sport?

Imagine you have your sport bag on the desk now. What will you put into it?

II. ─ The next task is to divide words into three columns. Which team will do it the quickest will be the first.

Wrestling, karate, football, hockey, tennis, golf, running, basketball, athletics, figure skiing, fencing, cycling, judo, vоlleyball.

ІІІ. Now try to guess what kind of sport I mean. (Слайд 3)

1. The game can be played by two or four players. The players must change positions after each game. The ball must touch the table on both sides of the net each time it is hit. (Tennis)

2. Each team must have eleven players. The two teams should wear different colours. Only the goalkeeper is allowed to play the ball with his hands or arms. (Football)

3. A game played by two teams of 6 players each that is played on an ice field. (Hockey)

4. It is a team game. Both men and women can play it. The players have a ball. They play it with their hands. There are six players in every team. (Volleyball)

5. The team has 5 players. They bounce the ball on the floor up and down with one hand. They try to throw the ball into the basket. (Basketball)

6. This kind of sport is very beautiful. The sportsmen do some exercises or dance to the music. The sportsmen have skates and beautiful costumes on. (Figure-skating)

IV. And now let’s divide these kinds of sport into winter or summer sport. (Слайд 4)

V. Let’s revise sport equipment. You need to stick the pictures of sport equipment to the pictures of sport. (Додаток 1)

VI "Question — answer" is the next task. Listen to me attentively! You must make the questions using the follow­ing words, write them down and ask the members of other team. Do it one by one. You have 5 minutes. The highest mark is 6.

VIII. GAME ‘PERFORM A MIME”

• Now we’ll play a mime game. One person goes to the board and gets a card. On the card the sport is written. Then he performs a mime. You should guess the sport he is performing.

Referees count your points.

Children, come to the board. Dear referees, are you ready with the results?

I congratulate the winners. You won the GOLD medals. As they say, FOR­TUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE.

The other team won SILVER medals. Don't forget: IT IS ABOVE ALL TO TAKE PART IN, NOT TO WIN. Dear referees, thank you for your help.
