Hello dear teachers, pupils and guests! Welcome to our festival “Let’s study English”

We study English: the language of international value. Why is English important? We will answer this question today.

Ведучий 1: Why do you study English?

Ведучий 2: I study English because it is important for my future. And you?

Ведучий 1: I learn English because I want to be good at this language.

Ведучий 2: So, why is English important?

Ведучий 1: English is the most commonly spoken language in the world. One out                    of five people can speak or at least understand English.

Ведучий 2: English is spoken as the first language by around 400 million people around the world.

Ведучий 1: English is the official language  of 53 countries.

Ведучий 2: English is the language of science, aviation, computers, diplomacy, and tourism. The knowledge of English increases your chances of getting a good job.

Ведучий 1: The history of mankind knows a lot of brilliant people. One of them is William Shakespeare. William Shakespeare’s works are known everywhere in the world.

Ведучий 2: His plays, written for a small theatre in the 16^th century are played on the biggest scenes of all countries nowadays.

My mistress’ eyes are nothing like the sun;

Coral is far more red than her lips’ red;

Ведучий 1: Good English, well spoken and well written, will open more doors than a college degree. Bad English will slam doors you don’t even know existed.

Ведучий 2: The pupils of the 4-B form like learning English very much. They have prepared a play  “A Mitten”.  Greet them, please.

Ведучий 1: At our English lessons we work hard to master English. Besides, for many pupils learning  English is not only a favourite subject, it is also a hobby.

The pupils of the 8-B form enjoy singing and dancing. They are going to perform a song “I feel good”

Ведучий 2: English helps people all over the world to communicate with each other.

Ведучий 1: English is fun! By learning English, you will also learn about other cultures.

The pupils of the 7-C form want to perform a Scottish Dance. Greet them!

Ведучий 2: English is also the language of the Internet. Many websites are written in English – you will be able to understand them and take part in forums and discussions.

Ведучий 1: English is  the language of the media industry. If you speak English, you won’t need to rely on translators and subtitles anymore to enjoy your favourite books, songs, films and TV shows.

Ведучий 2: English is based on a simple alphabet and it is fairly quick and easy to learn compared to other languages.

Ведучий 1: English is not only useful – it gives you a lot of satisfaction. Making progress feels great. You will enjoy learning English, if you remember that every hour you spend learning gets you closer to perfection!
