Інформаційний буклет « Цікаві факти про Велику Британію»

Мета: узагальнити та систематизувати знання з теми, розвивати логічне мислення та увагу, розвивати монологічне мовлення, розширити кругозір учнів та  мотивувати  до вивчення англійської мови.

Обладнання : карта Британії, запис національних музичних інструментів, записи відомих музичних композицій, презентації, національна символіка.

Good afternoon dear friends. I am glad to see you here. Welcome to our theme party devoted to the UK. Today we are going to summarize the information you’ve already known and share with you some interesting facts that aren’t mentioned in your books. I hope you’ll have a good time today . So llets start our party. In order to create a positive atmosphere I offer you to listen to the song …..

We all know that England is an interesting country with an impressive history and I’m sure you’ve heard many interesting facts about London and the UK. However, did you know that approximately 2,500 people have to be rushed to hospital every year for injuries caused by toothbrushes?!!

With an area of 242,500 sq km (93,600 sq mi), the UK is quite a large country, but in fact, nowhere in it is more than just 113 km (70 mi) from the sea.

Every day, the British drink 165 million cups of tea, which is over 20 times more than the Americans.

At one point in time, the British Empire, the most extensive empire in world history, ruled approximately 1/4 of the world's population and covered about 1/4 of Earth's total land area.

Britain has waged many wars including devastating conflicts lasting for long decades. However, the country was also involved in what is generally considered the shortest war in history. The Anglo-Zanzibar War of 1896 lasted just 38 minutes.
