Приклад запитання: Read a letter about accommodation and for questions 1 to 10, choose the correct option.AccommodationTo: Ellie CrestSubject: Surfing Holiday Hi Ellie,I’m so pleased you can come surfing in August! Paul, Rose and Kevin are coming too, so there will be five of us. We’ve decided to return to New Sands for a couple of days, because the surf board hire is so cheap there.I’m starting to think about accommodation. We won’t camp again after last year! I hated staying in a tent in all that rain!Kevin wants to hire a caravan. There are some nice ones with 3 bedrooms, showers and cooking facilities. The problem is, none of the caravan parks take short bookings in the summer. The minimum stay is a week. It’s a shame because there are several nice parks near the beach. There’s a hostel for young people in New Sands. It’s the cheapest option after camping, and there’s a big kitchen and dining room where we can cook. The problem is, accommodation is in dormitories and I don’t really want to sleep with strangers. There are a few guest houses in New Sands. Some have triple rooms, so we only need to book two rooms. We’ll have to book soon if we choose that option, because many guest houses are already full. The hotels in New Sands are too expensive, although I’d love to stay at the Sunrise Pavilion with its large pool! The final option is to rent a cottage. I found one. It has three bedrooms – a double, a single and a twin, so two of us would have to share a bed! There’s a big kitchen diner with a microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. The living room has a TV and DVD player. There’s just one bathroom, but there’s a separate WC. There’s a nice garden too. The problem is, it’s 5 miles from the beach.Let me know which option you prefer. Cheers,Natalie1. The friends want to stay in New Sands for ...

Приклад запитання: These days, people are turning away from meat because they want to be healthy, care about animals and the environment. For that reason, chefs and scientists at one company called ‘Impossible Foods’ spent one hundred million dollars to create a hamburger called the ‘Impossible Burger’. It’s called the ‘Impossible Burger’ because it looks, smells and tastes like a real meat burger, but it is made from natural plant ingredients such as wheat, coconut oil and potatoes. Where can you buy an Impossible Burger? Currently, you can buy it only in 32 restaurants in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Texas and San Francisco. However, the company plans to sell it in supermarkets and restaurants in many other cities in America, and then in other places around the world. The company says that it also wants to create other kinds of ‘meat’ that are made from plants. Bill Gates, the world famous Microsoft businessman, loves the idea of a hamburger made from plants. On January 7, 2019, 'Impossible Foods' launched a new version of their burger, the 'Impossible Burger 2.0'. The company has stated that the new burger is "tastier, juicier and more nutritious..." The new product is also gluten-free, replacing wheat with soy protein.1. Company is called ....

Приклад запитання: 1 Read the text and choose the following statements «True» or «False».1 The man in the story had no wife.___________Once there was a man who had three daughters and was a single parent to his children. One morning he asked his eldest daughter, Sonya, to wash the breakfast dishes before going to school. But she was already running late, so she burst into tears. The father decided that she was just trying to get out of an unpleasant chore, and he demanded that she dry her tears and get back to work immediately. She silently obeyed him, but that day they were driving to school in silence. The man dropped his daughters and moved to the office. He tried to work but couldn’t concentrate — all he could see was his daughter’s scared, tear-stained face as she climbed out of the car. So he decided to say sorry to his daughter. He took permission from the school to take his daughter for lunch. When she came out, he turned towards his daughter and said, «Sonya, I am sorry. It’s not that I shouldn’t have asked you to help out at home, but I had no right to it this morning without any previous warning. I upset you at a time when you most needed my love and support. And I let you go without saying «I love you. Please forgive me.» Sonya put her arms around her father’s neck and said, «Oh, Dad, of course I forgive you. I love you too.»

Приклад запитання: Read the text. Then choose "next". Прочитай текст, потім натисни "далі"Some people say: “It’s useful to dream”. So, Peter often imagines the city, where he would like to live.It could be quite a big city with not very high buildings, which have large roofs, and systems of stores. The streets of the city of his dream would be straight and trees would make shadows for people. There must not be any rubbish. All litter would be recycled. People, who work for such recycling companies, would walk up and down the streets to look for some rubbish for recycling. All energy would come from the sun and the Earth. All large roofs have batteries for collecting solar energy. Solar energy could light the houses and be power for cars. Earth energy would make houses warm in winter. People could use the energy of Earth because it was for inside.Schools must be the houses of happy childhood. Students would study subjects only in real situations on practice. There wouldn’t be any homework, no learning by heart. But there must be some intellectual clubs for listening to poems and literary works.Hospital would be half-empty because all people would have very nice health. People would be kind and polite as they had few problems. They would have a rest after their work. It must not be any additional work. But they could develop their creativity: painting, singing, acting, handmade.Peter understands his dreams are too optimistic and it may seem they are far from reality, But he prefers repeating “All dreams may come true”. Приклад запитання: Read the forum posts. Match texts A–D with questions 1–5. One text matches with two questions.A Dale – Bread makerI can’t remember how many times our bread maker has been used since Mum got it at Christmas, but it’s a lot. I was a bit worried because I read in a magazine that bread makers are one of those gadgets that people are often given as presents, but then they never use them. I don’t know why that is because it looks really easy to use. You just put all the ingredients in, press a button, and a couple of hours later you have a fresh loaf of bread. It beeps once when it’s ready! I love waking up to the smell of fresh bread each morning and Mum says she’ll never buy a loaf of bread again, so I think it was a really successful present. B Karen – Spider catcherI’m a bit frightened of spiders. I don’t mind the little ones, but I don’t like the huge ones that are as big as your hand. I don’t like killing them though, so when my friend bought me a spider catcher, I was delighted. It’s a long stick with a kind of brush at the end that picks up the spider without hurting it. Then you can put the spider of out the window. I don’t know who it was invented by, but I think it’s a great idea. C Jack – Key alarmPeople say I’m a bit forgetful and they’re probably right. I often lose my keys, so when I was given a key alarm for my birthday, I was really pleased. It’s a gadget that you attach to your keys. Then, if you don’t know where they are, you can whistle or clap your hands and you’ll hear the alarm. It’s very loud, and it only stops when you find your keys and press a button. It does save a lot of time when I’m leaving the house. Before I had the alarm, it took me five to ten minutes to find my keys. These days all I have to do is whistle and I’m ready to go. The only bad thing about is that the batteries run out quite quickly, so I’m trying to be a bit more careful with my keys in case the alarm’s not working. D Elliot – Ice lolly makerI was surprised when Mum bought me an ice lolly maker for my birthday. It seemed like a present for a young child. But then I used it and realised that it was great. You put the ice lolly maker in the freezer. Then, when you want to make a lolly, you just pour fruit juice into the maker. It freezes in about ten minutes, so you don’t have to wait very long to eat the lolly. And you can be really creative. I’ve used different fruit juices and put nuts and yoghurt in, too. It’s perfect for a hot day – really quick and healthy, and great fun however old you are!Which gadget does the writer say is useful if you have a bad memory?
